Fumigation only works properly when your home is ready for it. A few simple steps before your Merit handyman arrives will make the treatment more effective and get you back into your space faster.
Clear the floors. Move loose items, shoes, and clutter away from walls and corners — these are the areas that need the most attention, and they're often the hardest to reach.
Cover food and utensils. Anything you eat with or from should be sealed away or covered, even in the kitchen cabinets. This protects your family, not just your belongings.
Pack away sensitive items. Electronics, important documents, and anything you'd rather not have exposed to chemical treatment should be moved to another room or covered properly.
Plan to be away for a few hours. Most fumigation treatments need the home to sit undisturbed afterward — your handyman will tell you exactly how long, usually two to four hours.
Let pets stay elsewhere. If you have pets, arrange for them to be somewhere else during and shortly after the treatment.
Every Merit fumigation visit is handled by a NIN-verified handyman who documents the job with before-and-after photos, so you always have a record of what was treated and when — useful if you ever need to book a follow-up.
